Viz's Baja

The owner of this off-road Baja Bug contacted me via volkszone.co.uk. After he bought it, he discovered the car was full of riveted and glued-in aluminium plates!

Overall, I replaced the lower front bulkhead outer skin, the bottom of both door pillars, the bottom half of both front inner wings, both rear body mounts and the strengtheners. I also fabricated plates to repair the luggage area where it had been badly repaired with fibreglass. I was shocked that someone had gone to the trouble to fabricate some really nice, but not up to the job, aluminium panels, when they could have easily and cheaply purchased the correct repair sections.
